Trial usage

A license for trial usage is not required if only 3 user data types are persisted.

Nonprofit organizations such as schools or open source projects may get free licenses. Send us an email.

If you want to generate a Trial License, Log In to your VelocityDB account, or Register (free) for an account.

$100 6 month Developer License (standalone client - embedded not using VelocityDBServer)

License cost $ 100 per user which includes support and upgrades for 6 months. This lower cost type of development license is restricted for development of standalone client applications that do not use VelocityDBServer. License expire after 6 months. $200 Perpetual Developer License (embedded standalone client - not using VelocityDBServer)

License cost $ 200 per user which includes support and upgrades for 1 year. This lower cost perpetual type of development license is restricted for development of standalone client applications that do not use VelocityDBServer. License never expire. A new major version is usually released once/year. Enter the number of licenses to buy and then click on the associated PayPal image.

Number of standalone client developer licenses to buy using PayPal:

$300 Annual Developer License (Server/Client)

License cost $ 300 per user which includes support and upgrades for 1 year. This type of development license is unrestricted to be used with standalone (embedded) clients applications and/or client applications communicating with one or more VelocityDBServer(s).License expire after 1 year. Number of annual client/server developer licenses to buy using PayPal:

$400 Perpetual Developer License (Server/Client)

License cost $ 400 per user which includes support and upgrades for 1 year. This perpetual type of development license is unrestricted to be used with standalone clients applications and/or client applications communicating with one or more VelocityDBServer(s). Number of client/server developer licenses to buy using PayPal:

$6000Source Code License

License cost $ 6000 which includes support and upgrades for 1 year with Git access to live code repository of VelocityDB. This type of development license is unrestricted to be used with standalone clients applications and/or client applications communicatuing with one or more VelocityDBServer(s). This license currently includes all deployment royalties and all developer licenses your business needs. This type of license requires a signed NDA and a case by case review before a source code license may be granted.

License Information

Licenses will be issued as soon as payment has been received (delivery should be within 24hours of payment received).

Licenses are delivered to this page, download license database by clicking on "Download Licenses" button on top of this page.

Place the license database file, 4.odb, in the directory where your initial (startup) Databases will be located. Leave a copy of 4.odb in your Downloads folder so that it can be found there if it's missing in your database directory.

Deployment licenses/royalty

We are currently waiving all deployment royalties for anyone who has paid for at least one development license that is valid with the current VelocityDB release. In such cases, you will not need to pay anything additional when you deploy your application/library. This policy will remain for existing clients with a valid development license but we may review/change the terms some day for new clients.

Terms and Conditions

The software and information contained herein are proprietary to, and comprise valuable trade secrets of, VelocityDB, Inc, which intends to preserve as trade secrets such software and information. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation. VelocityDB, Inc reserves all rights not expressly granted to you in this EULA. The Software is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws and treaties. VelocityDB, Inc or its suppliers own the title, copyright, and other intellectual property rights in the Software. The Software is licensed, not sold.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and except as provided in the VelocityDB Guarantee, VelocityDB, Inc. and its suppliers shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damages for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information or other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use or inability to use the Software, even if VelocityDB, Inc has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In any case VelocityDB, Inc entire liability under any provision of this Agreement shall be limited to the amount actually paid by you for the Software. These limitations do not apply to any liabilities that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable laws.
